T is for Trip – George’s Hawaiian Vacation

My last trip was to The Big Island, Hawaii. We were there for a wedding and had a short time to tour the island. It’s our tradition to take a small passenger when we fly – Curious George. Here are some highlights from George’s Hawaiian Vacation…

6 George said, Ooooo when he saw his first Hawaiian sunset in Kailua-Kona

8 George couldn't be late for the wedding, so he took a quick trip down the coast and stopped at the lava fields

11 George had to pull over to admire the view

15 Cool! George said when he saw the lava mesh into black sand

16 George was excited that the famed turtles were there to greet him

39 George was groovin' on all the artwork in Hilo

40 Their were cool sculptures along the streets

43 And Sheri gave George a sip of her awesome Kona Coffee latte'

49 George at the crater

55 And George was fascinated by the huge variety of plants by the cliff

57 George was driving through the amazing vegetation on the Scenic bypass Hwy 19

59 George of the Jungle! One Scenic Loop Hwy 19

61 And the streams were rushing after the rains

62 George found a ginormous leaf!

68 After dinner George was back on Hwy 19 and saw dramatic gorges and a genuine Hawaiian rainbow!

69 The windy countryside took George's breath away

70 George drove out of the rain and into the sunset home after a long and satisfying day

80 It was time for George to bid farewell to Kailua and head for the airport

  Hehe, my husband found George on the sidewalk in Seattle just before we went to Jamaica in 1997. We decided he must be a world traveler, so we took him along, and he’s gone everywhere with us since. George really wants to go to the Tour de France! 🙂
