I’m author, Kennedy J. Quinn. You can think of me as the inventor, behind the scenes in a rather cluttered workshop. The study of philosophy, literature and communications hung some tools on the walls. A prior seven manuscripts and three published novels provided manuals and mechanics. And a career of many years in visual arts filled the shelves with paint and polish. But the key to every creation is the spark.

The Witty Miss Livingstone (Miss LiV) was sparked into life from a costume created for my author-friend Jeffrey Cook’s Launch Party for Dawn of Steam: First Light. Her story world was inspired by the cloud of steam that rose from the engine at Snoqualmie’s Railroad Days and the beautiful valley it spread across.  Once she was conceived in the mind of this inventor, she was as unstoppable as she is on her many literary journeys. As with the best things invented by humans, she took on a life of her own.

I hope you have fun reading  her adventures and enjoy this site – with a look behind the scenes into the inventor’s shop. On the counters you’ll find news of appearances and new releases. Under the pile of tools you’ll find a gem on the writing process from time to time. And scattered about, if you look around, you’ll find glimpses of history, character sketches, and of course, some steam trains.
