I’ve Got my Towel…Time to Travel!

I can’t wait to arrive at Norwescon! Come on down to Seatac DoubleTree and join the fun! I’ve got my new steampunk trope Octopus towel at the ready for this year’s theme, and a table lined up to share with my esteemed colleagues Rachel Barnard, Sheri J Kennedy and Victoria Bastedo on Writer’s Row….

Ninny Rhino Achieved! Camp NaNo Challenge Accepted!

In the month of March I took up D. Wallace Peach’s Ninny Rhino challenge – mostly because I wanted the awesome Rhino Badge, but also because I needed to get back on track with disciplined writing sessions and immerse myself in Miss Livingstone’s twisty time travel plot until I solved the remaining plot knots. It…

Tangled Knots are Fabulous Plots

…AT LAST! I would hate to admit how many hours it’s taken to untangle the web woven my Miss Livingstone’s books I & II. So many lovely mysteries were threaded and I was determined to bring them to a most incredible and rewarding tapestry at the end. I believe I’ve done it. I’ve plotted and…

On the Road Again

I promise I’m working hard on completing Book III for release, but it’s been great to be out the last 3 weekends meeting readers and finding new inspiration at book booths with NiWA and my friends at Clockwork Dragon. Here’s a photo from the So NW Women’s Show in Tacoma. Next stop, Norwescon at the…

NIWA Book Booth

It was such fun selling books with NIWA (Northwest Independent Writers Association) this past weekend at the Tacoma Home & Garden show. It may seem an odd place to sell books, but we were very well received. The crowd was eclectic and interested in some of everything – which is exactly what we had to offer. It’s…

A Little History & Holiday Shortbread

While searching my cupboards during my Christmas shortbread baking, I realized the cutters I’d used for the Miss Livingstone Book II Release Party would fit perfectly into my traditional cutter tin. I’ve had the tin for more years than I remember, but my cutter collection had outgrown its bounds. Fortunately I kept it for sentiment……

Images from the Launch Party!

I had SO much fun at the Miss LiV Book II: Memory Key Launch Party! Thanks to everyone who came and who sent good wishes and encouraging congratulations. It really felt like a celebration. I was pleased to have several other authors read (I didn’t catch photos of them all) and enjoyed the two readings…

Party’s Over…Book IV Begins!

The Launch Party for Book II was a blast! I’ll have photos posted soon, but today I start the draft of Book IV and I’m participating in Camp Nanowrimo for fun and motivation. My goal is the full 50,000 words in 30 days! I’ve got my Squatch shirt on and I’m ready to roll…Here we…

Woot! Book II ARC done & I won Camp NaNo

It’s such a relief and utter thrill to be done with Book II’s ARC of Miss LiV Adventures! (advance reader copy). Just a few more touch-ups for the release in May!!! All those editing hours also made me win Camp NaNo early – for the first time ever. 🙂 Can’t wait for my upcoming events….

As Fast as I Can

For those of you who are anxiously awaiting the release of Miss Livingstone’s Book II…Here’s my NaNoWriMo site Goal Tracker from March 18th. I actually met my goal on the 16th, and today I’m up to 160.5 before my work sessions. It’s showing only my work on editing the manuscript since January 1st. Considering I have another full time…

A Wee Bit of Fame

I don’t live near a bookstore, so I get to browse one much too seldom. To my delight, when I was in Issaquah (about 20 miles away) this weekend, I found Miss Livingstone, Book I at the ‘local’ Barnes & Noble! Besides the excitement of seeing my book on the shelf, I was thrilled they…
