Google Search Definition
I find it interesting that the first definition of Quality is a comparison. It’s Better than. It’s no wonder so many are concerned with the opinion of others. However the second definition is about a Distinctive attribute…that which makes it different.

Isn’t that interesting! Off the top of my head, I would have said the definition was “well-crafted” or something similar, not a comparison, simply a statement of fine workmanship.

That is indeed interesting! I try to resist comparing people. I don’t always do it, and I’m not sure if I’m getting any better at not doing it. But I think it’s subtly detrimental and usually unnecessary.

It is tough not to judge. I try to minimize it too. It’s a pretty basic part of human character, I think. It probably stems from need to survive – choosing the largest and most perfectly ripe fruit, the healthy animal to eat, the most robust specimen with which to mate. But it’s certainly detrimental in social and psych circles among people who are ‘well’. Even in social and psych, judgment is a means to protect yourself on a basic level, however.
