Each year the holidays are filled with nostalgia for me. Much of my family are gone, so when my brother visits, it’s cherished time. Decorating with her handmade Raggedy Ann and several eras of my mums handcrafted egg ornaments adds to the fun traditions. The darkest day has passed and Winter Solstice marks the return of light. Best of…

Book III – I Can See the Light
Quite often finishing the draft of a book feels like coming out of a tunnel for me. The spectacular sunset on the mountain out my window yesterday evening came through my former story fog with crisp clarity. I haven’t fully seen the beauty outside of Miss Livingstone’s world for over a month. I write my drafts…
Woot! Beta Delivered- Miss Livingstone
Time to celebrate! At long last the Beta version of The Unwitting Journeys of the Witty Miss Livingstone, Book II: Memory Key has been sent out to readers. While it’s out, I’ll do my own read-through of the manuscript, trying to see the arc of the storyline as a reader instead of a writer. The story…

For those of you outside of the US, this day may be just like any other, but for me September 11th is always momentous. On this day in 2001, I was up extra early and caught the news after the first plane had hit the World Trade Center. I saw…
Getaway
Sometimes a writer just needs a getaway to bring the story back into focus…A few of my photos from last weekend’s WA coast trip – Ruby Beach
Coming Soon…Can I Sleep First?
Yup, I was down to the wire, but met my Camp NaNoWriMo goal again in July. 3630 more minutes on Book II of The Unwitting Journeys of the Witty Miss Livingstone. I’m working hard to get it out to you this Fall! …but now it’s Nighty-night time. Zzzzzz
A Writer’s Life
A Writer’s Life…is awesome! I wouldn’t trade it for — almost anything. And yes, this is a sneak peek at a pivotal moment in The Unwitting Journeys of the Witty Miss Livingstone, Book II: Memory Key.
A Mad Dash
Here’s a snippet of the Beta version – Chapter 6 In Which Miss Livingstone Doesn’t See What’s Coming to Her…
“That was a sudden departure, Caprice,” Mr. Scott called as he offered his arm and glanced after the girl and her brother.
“Mr. Scott, please!” I looked up and down to see if anyone had observed his over-familiarity — most especially Abigale. But she was still busy marching off. Master Henry turned his head and shot me one more crooked grin.

Woot! I Won Camp NaNo!

Seventy-six hours of editing in 30 days! My goal was 75. It was a lot of work, but I’ve really got a handle on the second book in my Witty Miss Livingstone series and a better grasp of the full story arc of the other 3 books to…
T is for Trip – George’s Hawaiian Vacation
It’s our tradition to take a small passenger when we fly – Curious George. Here are some highlights from George’s Hawaiian Vacation…
R is for Random Recollection
Out of the ether, a couple of my old poems from university days showed up in my Facebook messages today from a friend who was – no doubt is – a brilliant poet. How funny that he still had these scraps and came across them. And how nice that he took the time to share them with me and send them back to my Recollection.
Note: drier should be *dryer*. I’ve come a long way, baby! LOL. The year is missing from the dates, but I’m guessing about ’85 or so.
P is for Pathetic – Selfie Science?
I really try to look on the bright side and share the good stuff, but I can’t help it. I must rant for a moment. It’s a pretty and cute rant… *sighs* Flattering Selfie Angle Science. Okay…?
