In the same week that Book I: Journey Key happens, the Boston Marathon was won by a Nova Scotian. Miss Livingstone was from Boston and had settled in the west, in the small but valued Washington town of Snoqualmie. It’s remarkable how the two coasts contrasted in infrastructure. It would have been difficult for her. And yet the ambitions of those that came from such cities as Boston, and from Europe contributed much to the west coast development.
It’s fun when writing a fantasy with a strong base in history to find the amazing stories of what was happening at that time. Truth is definitely inspiring and often greater than imagined.
