Emmet Cohen Trio’s stop in Snoqualmie Valley (North Bend) last week was a real treat. They brought some 1919 ragtime jazz in with modern phrasing and complex innovation. (Perhaps like Miss Livingstone showed up from 1910 Snoqualmie and walked into Piccola Cellars to sit at my table and jive with me that night!) Add to that, playful humor and impeccable skills grooved in an abundance of good vibes, and you’ll have some idea of the awesome evening… or you can just listen in my video clip HERE. Enjoy!

I had a great time at this jazz performance brought to North Bend by Jazz Clubs NW. It reminded me how much I love jazz, and I wondered why I don’t listen all the time…but then I realized it’s because my favorite is improv, and I love it so much more when it’s live!
